The United Shippers Alliance (USA) is a buying cooperative—a group of shippers that consolidates freight volumes for its shipper-members in order to secure volume rates/discounts and service contracts. USA negotiates master contracts on behalf of shipper-members for ocean, less-than-truckload and small package shipping. These contracts include eight less-than-truckload carriers providing discounts of 75-80% off regular pricing levels, plus international service contracts with 15 worldwide carriers. USA members select the programs and level of participation, with the option to ship all or any percentage of business through the association’s contracts.
Members of the Northeast Ohio Logistics Network receive these reduced freight rates as a shipper-member of the United Shippers Alliance.
