Background
A study of the freight transportation system in Northeast Ohio conducted by Wilbur Smith Associates in 1998 & 1999, called for NEOTEC to facilitate dialogue among key public and private entities to create a unified regional freight transportation system that would ensure the economic success of the region.

Logistics Network 
Recognizing the importance of logistics in a company’s success, NEOTEC has formed a network of logistics professionals to address transportation issues in Northeast Ohio.

This “Logistics Network” brings together area shippers, carriers and third party providers in a spirit of cooperation to collaborate on logistic issues that affect the entire region. Improving the logistics system will not only benefit existing companies, but also help attract additional capital investment to the Northeast Ohio region. 

The Northeast Ohio Logistics Network consists of  a mix of shippers, carriers and logistics service providers, as well as government officials and economic development groups.  There are no membership fees, but many benefits.  “Members have access to reduced freight rates through the Network.  They are  empowered to collectively impact legislation relating to logistics issues, and to increase the awareness of the importance of logistics on the local economy.
