ITAC Announcements February 2006

ITAC Makes Mark on Region
The Northeast Ohio International Trade Assistance Center (ITAC), hosted by NEOTEC since 2004, provides export-counseling services at no cost to area businesses interested in developing international markets, and to existing exporters wanting to expand markets. Services include export readiness assistance, international trade compliance and development and documentation requirements.

ITAC has hosted numerous workshops and seminars to assist the Northeast Ohio business community with international trade issues in order to promote growth through exports.

ITAC provides one-on-one counseling as well as group training for various aspects of international business, including:
· Writing a global business plan
· Researching best markets for entry
· Pricing strategies
· How to market products
· Cultural issues

Kimberly Holizna, ITAC director, has more than 15 years of international trade experience. Having served as a consultant and in a manufacturing environment, Ms. Holizna has first-hand knowledge of the mechanics of entering various global markets. For more information, contact ITAC at itac@kent.edu  or by calling 330-672-4081

ITAC Supports Emerging Markets Initiative
The Emerging Markets Initiative (EMI) is a project jointly sponsored by ITAC and Youngstown State University to educate the regional business community about business opportunities in Emerging Markets in East Europe, Asia and Latin America, and to internationalize the business curriculum at the university.

ITAC’s commitment to this important program is two-fold: providing support through consulting, market research and general advice to area businesses regarding export needs; and making ITAC resources available to educators and students.
